Coulter Fellowships
The Wallace H. Coulter Foundation is a philanthropic organization located in Miami, Florida, USA. The Foundation is interested in awarding approximately $100,000 in fellowships each year for 5 years to support students in the GT-SJTU ECE Dual-MS degree program. Women engineering students are especially encouraged to apply. To be eligible, the applicant must (i) be from documented low-income families and (ii) have academic standards high enough to be accepted into the GT-SJTU ECE Dual-MS degree program regardless of need. The Fellowship is both need-based and merit-based. Fellowship recipients are expected to engage in community service projects during the award period, to demonstrate or to cultivate their sense of social responsibility. Depending on the qualifications, the fellowship pays full or partial GT-Shanghai tuition and fees as well as the cost of textbooks. The grant provides additional support for the Coulter Fellows, such as resources needed for carrying out the community service projects.
Examples of strong financial need:
• The student has received financial aid while attending college
• The student’s family resides in a village
• The student is from one of the poverty areas declared by the government
• The student’s family is currently on government welfare
• The student’s parents are unemployed with no significant additional
sources of income
• One of the student’s parents is handicapped or has terminal illness
• The student belongs to a single parent family for at least the past four
years
• The student is the first in his/her family to attend college
In addition to reviewing the applicant’s documentation of financial need, the selection committe will also consider feedback from the student’s peers and administrative supervisors in case the student’s lifestyle and spending habits contradict the student’s statement of financial need.

Design a 2-year community service plan to help another school like Fenfa, possibly addressing a different area of the pupils’ needs.. Be creative but REALISTIC!!!
