Transcripts and Degree Documents

Typically, students apply to the GT-SJTU Dual-MS degree program when they are (A) in their final year of undergraduate studies; or (B) in their first year of graduate studies at SJTU.

After gaining admission at Georgia Tech, you will be prompted to register for courses online using the OSCAR registration system during certain registration periods. However, various holds may be placed on your account to prevent you from registering for classes. The most common is an academic document hold. When transcripts or degree documents are missing from your admissions file, a hold will be placed on your registration; it must be cleared or moved before you will be allowed to register.

Documents needed to remove registration hold -
For group (A) students described above, the Graduate Admissions Office typically only has the transcripts reflecting the first 3 years of your undergraduate studies. Please arrange for copies of your final transcripts and degree documents (native language and English versions) to be sent to Graduate Admissions by July 31 to clear the hold on your registration.

For group (B) students described above, the Graduate Admissions Office typically has your final undergraduate transcripts and degree documents but they expect (at least) your first semester graduate transcripts (native language and English versions) as well. Please send these documents to Graduate Admissions by April 30.

If you wish to send to Graduate Admissions by express mail and need a contact phone number, you can use +1 (404) 894-1610 for the Graduate Admissions Office.

Students who are currently enrolled at SJTU can contact Ms. Rui Shi for batch mailing to Georgia Tech in April (Group B) or July (Group A).

Arrangements will be made to allow new students to take GT courses during the first summer (for those who are present at SJTU) and/or the first fall semester. However, it is the students’ responsibility to secure the academic documents to ensure that registration holds are removed permanently after the first fall semester.

Transcripts needed for credit transfer -
If you need to transfer SJTU course credits to Georgia Tech (up to 6 credit hours) in order to meet the GT MS degree requirements, you will need to mail (updated) SJTU graduate transcripts to Office of the Registrar at Georgia Tech, prior to filing your degree petition paperwork. For currently enrolled students, the address to mail the SJTU graduate transcripts is: Georgia Institute of Technology, Office of the Registrar, 225 North Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30332-0315, USA. Tel: +1 (404) 894-4150.
